The death comes days after 18-year-old Rob Knox was fatally stabbed outside the Metro Bar, Sidcup.Police have said they are keeping an open mind about the motive for the killing. A post-mortem examination will take place on Thursday.
The murder is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's Operation Trident unit, which looks at gun crime in London's Afro-Caribbean communities.
Supt Paul Morris, from Camden Police, said: "This is a shocking tragedy.
"We have stepped up patrols in the borough to reassure the community and specialist officers are investigating the incident."
Sharmaarke was shot the same day that actor Rob Knox, 18, was stabbed to death in an unconnected incident outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup, south-east London.
Unemployed Karl Bishop, of Beaver Lodge, Carlton Road, Sidcup, has been charged with his murder.
