Two explosions in two northeastern Nigerian states on Monday killed at least 26 people and wounded 79, rescue and health officials said. A car bomb at a bus station in Gombe killed at least 20 people and wounded 60, a Red Cross official, Abubakar Yakubu, said. In Bauchi, west of Gombe, an explosion at a market killed at least six people and wounded 19, said the state commissioner of health, Dr. Sani Malami. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but witnesses said the explosions bore all the hallmarks of attacks by the group Boko Haram.
