People are ultimately responsible for their own spending. However, I think it is quite ludicrous that some credit companies are prepared to offer insame amounts of credit to those who can ill afford it! What are credit checks for? On a combined income of less than £50K, my partner was approved for a £12,000 credit limit on one card alone (in addition to his other 2).
It seems like 'free' money and no wonder those with little or no willpower and/or financial acumen encounter spiralling debts.

Totaly missing the point of that fact that women by and large are locked up for failure to pay fines / council tax rather than beating each other with baseball bats,stabbing,burglary and the other predominantly male offences.

The Nazi programme was only possible with the support--or at least lack of resistance--of ordinary Germans. One didn't have to be anti-Semitic (although most Germans and Austrians were). I agree that Fr. Schwartzkopf was an incredible artist. But as one who benefitted from Nazi patronage, she should have been held to a higher standard. She was not, and nor were others, such as Karajan and Boehm, who directly benefitted from the persecution of Jews.
