UK Troops to leave Iraq
No. Keep them there until the UK is so bankrupt that our children will be lifetime slaves to massive corporations. A bit like we are.
What is this "British" army thing everyone keeps banging on about anyway? Surely they'll just be assimilated into the EU army soon...
Come on! Let's get those lazy Irish out there fighting along side their European brother to "defend freedom"
(how much will it cost to clean up all the land contaminated with depleted uranium by the way?)
UK Troops to leave Iraq
British troops should have never gone to Iraq in the first place. They should have returned as soon as possible. Leaving Iraq is better than fighting for nothing and is the only option left. An Army may defeat the other. But, No Army can defeat the people. That's what happened in Iraq. Military might can not solve any problem in world. Mutual respect and dialogue is the only way to peace. Never invade any country like this. War must be outlawed by UN. Killing other for any reason is unacceptable

When is the BBC going to stop being the governments lap dog and allow free speech on HYS?
Should pension overpayments be paid back?
Chris Gavin speaks of the baby boomer elderly, asking why being old should be an excuse not to have a pension cut.
My dad's 94, far older than the baby boomers. I'm older than them! He lives alone, with family support, a widower since 1980, relying on work and state pensions, no burden on the council or NHS.
He worked from 1929 to 1979, survived the 1930s depression and 6 years in the wartime army. He doesn't need Chris Gavin to tell him life is hard, nor should his pension be cut!
Should pension overpayments be paid back?
"...12 years ago we had a Tory government. That's right - it really is impossible to blame Gordy for causing this one. That must upset you goose-steppers, eh?
fred bloggs, Falkirk"
Not at all "fred".
Yet another Scotsman trying to dupe us with New Labour statistics. Try this out for size - There have been a further ELEVEN years of retirees added to the ONE year you mention. That is 91% more time under Labour "control".
And by the way, communists goose-step as well.

Should benefit claimants earn their money?
This policy is coming far too late (if it actually comes at all?) This government has nurtured a social underclass here in Britain by being too generous with benefits. Many of those claiming have never worked, nor want to work. It sickens me that I'm subsidising these Labour-supporting layabouts' lifestyles while I slog my guts out and pay my way in society. Why should the likes of Muslim hate cleric Abu Qatada get £50,000 a year in benefits because he reckons his back 'hurts'? Get a desk job!
Should benefit claimants earn their money?
I wonder just how big the pool of 'unemployables' is; i.e. those that
rule themselves out of a job by their actions (drug taking, alcoholism, repeated crime) and attitudes. Who in their right minds would employ someone like Karen Matthews and her ilk? Society really is in a sorry mess which it is too late to do anything about (short of selectively halving the population).
Should benefit claimants earn their money?
STOP IMMIGRATION,BRING BACK NATIONAL SERVICE & LOOK AFTER OUR OWN!
I don't see many British indiginous families having load of kids, let alone living on the state and getting everything for nothing!
The government should also do something about the drugs culture, as most of these people feed their habits with crime and benefits.
Can the Home Office leaks inquiry be resolved?

Well Dominic Green was charged under section 44 of the Terrorism Act, which can be sumarised that if the Government doesn't like what you are doing or saying, it can label you a terrorist and have you arrested.
This was a ploy reminiscent of the NKVD or the Stasi to shut up an MP who was doing his job, in exposing government blatent bare faced lies.
Has the government forgotten already it's pledge to stand by EU law e.g. the Whistle-Blowers directive.
