This was the saddest day of life. Thousands of people were killed. It was really a horrible incident. The terrorists want to spread fear in this world. Actually they want the destruction of this world as they are the enemies of Allah Almighty. The war against terrorism launched by the United States and its allies brought positive affects. The eradication of terrorism is a must and the war against terrorism must be bring the logical conclusion. The course will decide whether terrorists will be ruling this world or there will democracy in the world. We must not bow down to terrorism.

Sep 11 was done by Bush and his administrational surprised that such an attack and the Americans still think Force is the proper way of showing democracy and peace.

For each Arab or Muslim you kill, you increase the hate and you create violence.

When are we going to wake up to see what Bush , Blair ,And Ulmert are doing!!! You occupy Lebanon and call Lebanese terrorists. You occupy Iraq ,Afghanistan and you call them terrorists.

Do you know what your government are doing! such leaders are even ready to kill their own people to have an excuse to reach their goals.

Don't blame a Muslim, Arab or anyone. Blame your selves for voting for such Barbarians which create hate and anger

After 9/11 it became more clear that despite the fall of Communism there are still people who hate the Western way of life and who try to change the world according to their views using violence. Islam is not much different from Communism.

Maybe, what happened in New York on 11/9/01 might just give the Americans some idea of what they did to the people of Hanoi.

"Everyone has become a lot more right wing ever since 9/11"

Why is taking a stand against extremist Islam (which itself can be viewed as a far right ideology) 'right wing'? If wanting to free people from being stoned to death for adultary, banned from going to school because of their gender, or shot for chosing another religion is 'right wing', then I'm proud of that!

It's very interesting to read some of the comments here suggesting the only way to resolve this situation is through talk and mediation.

How can you talk to someone if you don't know who they are?

Are we niave enough to think that someone who is willing to kill himself wants to talk?

Do we really believe this will stop when Tony Blair goes or we remove our troops from Afganistan & Iraq?

When are muslims in general going to take an active part in stopping this? Or are they all just sleeping partners in their hatred of the west.

Derek Scougall writes: Until we build a true alliance with the Muslim World then expect more 9/11's from extremists to happen.

I think 9/11 has shown that we cannot build an alliance with the Muslim world.

They refuse to talk unless we concede our way of life. Even when we were defending Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War our troops were not allowed to celebrate Christmas on base.

Islam is extreme in it's teaching, there can be no dialogue, it's their way or death.

How has the World changed?
1. Americans have finally discovered the pain of terrorism, after decades of funding outfits such as the IRA;2.The USA now sees the World as falling into three categories, American and therefore good & morally right, 'coalition' partners..not American & therefore morally inferior but on the right side, the rest of the World ..not American, not on the'right side' & thus evil;
3.Old Europe led by France feels it can now overtly indulge it's antipathy to the 'Anglo-Saxon' community;4.those who in the 70's turned a blind eye to the stridently Western -hating Moslem activists [witness the Uni moslem groups in the 70's] now see that a large number of Moslems do hate us

Muslim terrorists do not discriminate. Just because they disagree with the Politics of the US (This was the main reason for their actions, if you have ever seen the videos on Al Jazeera, you would know that), they think they have the right to their actions. Let's not be naive here, these terrorists were going to find a way to carry out their actions. These terrorists have a chip on their shoulder because some countries will not stand by and let their country be over run by their people who do not want to integrate. That's the bottom line. I wholeheartedly support the US and anyone else who decides to fight fire with fire. We have to hit back, hard and without mercy.

the people who are responsible for our troops being in islamic countries, are not the us & uk governments, but your islamic terrorists.
it is also those that are killing moderate muslims, we dont plant suicide bombers amongst innocents,we dont kill our own people.

The global contempt for America has yet to peak. The fabrications and lies around 9/11 are an atrocity that shames our already bad reputation. It is the belief among 70% of citizens that 9/11 was a setup by Bush and the administration. My page links over 575 stories to support that claim
erroneousbusczh.homestead.com/9-11Plot.html.
The evidence that it was an inside job is greater than that linking anyone else to it. The FBI has NEVER been looking for Bin Laden, and now Bush admits Sadam had nothing to do with al qaida. There were NO WMD's, and there is NO santa Claus. There is only fascism and megalomaniacal murder, deceipt, and rape of earth. God forgive us all; we are surely doomed

Somehow many in US don't realize that what happaned to them on 9/11 is no different than what has happened to people in Iraq,Iran Afghanistan Vietnam Chile, Nicaragua and the list goes on. People have lost loved ones in those countries because of direct US intervention in the politics of those countries. People have died in those countries in thousands because of "shock and awe" bombings, clusters bombs, depleted unranium contamination, Napalm bombs and due to US installed brutal puppet governments. Being a "democracy" American citizens share the blame for all the atrocities committed by their "elected" govts. 9/11 was a payback time for being ignorant about the rest of the world. Pl print.

America only gives aide to countries that will bow to their whim. Yes, no one can deny that the U.S. is generous with its food but it all comes at a cost and that is so the receiving countries side with them. It has always been blackmail and always will be blackmail. The U.S. has destabilised the world by its insistence on democracy at whatever cost - not all countries want that kind of government. We, unfortunately, have a weak and uninspiring leader in Blair and he has let himself be dragged in to an unjust war. Whatever government Iraq has they will always be undemocratic and there will always be atrocities committed whether or not the U.S/British impose their rule.

First of all I pity all the Bush bashers here who are almost as stupid as British PM Chamberlain who declared that by signing peace agreement with Hitler has declared we have secured peace for our time. And Lo within year about 30 million died, where did peace with Hitler go? You cannot secure peace with evil. One who is self flagellating like Some Americans are doing no one can rescue. These guys need to realize what the situation is. Its a fight for survival. Islamic fascism annihilates minorities in their countries and expanding through emigrartion and immigration to west. So I wont be surprized if your Great grand children are following a mullah in a mosque. Goodluck you have no chance.

Prior to 9/11, the huge snake was terribly provoking the world. On 9/11, it was fed its own tail and it knowing deployed its venom to itself. That added two other 'qualities'- the snake became both blind and deaf. Imagine a ferrocious huge snake which is mad, blind and deaf!! what a curse!!

The 9-11 attacks were a result of America's inhuman and murderous policies, especially it support for Israel's endless crimes against humanity in Palestine. The subsequent use of this emotive incident to justify the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq has turned the US into the worlds only super rogue state whose only friends are war criminals and environmental terrorists like Blair and Olmert and family dictatorships like Saudi Arabia. It's time the winner of the 2000 US election, Al Gore, was given power and American stopped letting the patriotic poison of warmongering nationalism run through its collective psyche..

9/11 taught us the true brutality of terrorism.
I know what terrorism is like. I am a Sri-Lankan, who has been experiencing terrorism since 1982, led by L.T.T.E., one of the most ruthless terrorist groups in the world. These terrorists are fighting for the terminal division of the sovereign state of Sri-Lanka with 2/3 of the coast and half of the land. Actually it was them, who brought suicide bombing as a tactic to this world.
No other country has suffered by terrorism and suicide bombers like we do.
Terrorism shouldn’t be categorised, tolerated, excused or justified like some western media do. Whether its Alquida, Hezbullah or LTTE, terrorism should be eradicated.

To Miss Cherry Ann of Bristol who states “America only gives aide to countries that will bow to their whim.”

Maybe a little more research on the subject would change your mind. In just the past month the US has given aid to Palestine, China and Sudan to name a few.

On to the actual subject—9/11 woke up many Americans to the threat of Islamic fundamentalists whose goal is to kill the “infidels” who do not share their beliefs. . . nothing more. If you look at the history of Nazism, there is not much difference.
Excuses of US foreign policy is used by these inhumane monsters to pull the wool over one's eyes.

It is outrageous that both the UK and the US government fail to address the roots of the resentment and hatered against them around the world. One does not need to look too far to find the colonial foreign policy of both goverments and their direct and indirect involvement of loss of innocent lives in different countries.

Being Iranian, Septemeber 11 has a bitter memory in my mind. That is, Sepetember 1953 when foreign intervention engineered a coup which defeated the newly democratic goverment in favour of the dictator Shah who was serving the interest of oil companies.

9/11 was a terrible day not only for the usa but also for the rest of the world, I don't think that the use of violence will ever be the right action to take in order to pass a message through nore do I think that using the violence to combat violence is a better solution. Let us not be blind but realistic: Bush's policy towards terrorism is only increasing tension and defiance between countries that are "archenemies" but it also creates new "crisis" that would never have popped up if countries such as north korea, iran or latin america didn't have to choose between being "with or against" the United States. People shouldn't be offered such a dilemma between good and evil, right or wrong...
