If Blair wasn't fannying around in the Middle East trying to feather his nest, maybe the weather wouldn't be so bad.

Fog was NOT the cause of the Tenerife aircraft disaster.
Try googling "tenerife disaster wiki" for a comprehensive account of it and a list of the factors which caused it.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Fog did NOT cause the Tenerife accident.
A simple internet search will reveal what actually happened.

........I also feel that airline like Easyjet do all to easily cancel flight, even when there is a chance of running them delayed, because they simply don't lose out - only the passengers do.

Thank God we won WW2. If we hadn't it would be people like this running the country!

To Stuart Paterson - whilst I endorse your sentiment, you are unfortunately mistaken. As we all know, it's actually Thatcher's fault, as is the case with everything negative that's happened, ever.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
I blame Bush/US and Blair for this weather. If Bush had let Blair improve the nation's infrastructure we would not have this fog problem. Instead we poured money in the NHS & EU. No, the US thinks they are so great that we can't even work, even if we wanted to. I am not taking a low paying job, those are for the immigrants, but not for me. Instead of holding us back the US should let go of Blair and let us sink all on our own. I don't see the problem as too bad anyway. I can still find my Pub fog or no fog and for Christmas I will try something called soap.
In short: we can't do anything about the fog because Bush/US have caused it and Blair is too scared to react.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Apparently the conservative party are voted in, they plan to cut down on the use of Fog in selected airport's in peak times!
But surely the only way to combat Fog of any kind is to introduce more fish to the North Sea!

You'll have problems getting to your second homes in Devon, maybe you'll think about selling them AND THEN PEOPLE LIKE ME MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF BUYING ONE!!
Jimbob McGinty
Maybe you should try living in London to know that some of us (maybe even the majority) struggle to buy a home or have to commute hours everyday just so they can get a job to pay the bills. Don't be so stereotypical and ignorant. I don't think your comments have anything to do with this fog post, you're using it as just an excuse to have a go.

Sorry...the Denver airport and many other in the Midwest are currently under two feet of blizzard right now and nobody's whining nearly as much as on this forum. Sorry to say, but non-stop complaining about the weather appears to be uniquely British.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
I have always had great concerns about how the bbc prioratize their main news headlines, but this week it as made me really annoyed and concerned.Last week the bbc have been camped in ipswich, many reporters have been there all day, every day reporting the same news during the day.Today the main news all day on bbc news 24 has been the fog in Heathrow and the disruption caused to travellers hardly any news coverage from ipswich. In my view the coverage has been over the top, speaking to travellers at heathrow by phone. Is Heathrow the only airport in the Uk?As a nurse who has to work over the christmas period I feel this news coverage is irrelevant.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Over the past week many reporters have been camped in ipswich giving the same coverage all day.But today the main news as been the fog in Heathrow-all day.Is Heathrow the only airport in the UK?How can the BBC jusfify this extensive coverage? But they always do on have your say on BBC on News 24.
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Dear BBC News24,
I can't understand why you are spending hours and hours telling us something as simple as 'flights have been cancelled due to foggy weather conditions', when there are more important things happening in the world, the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, the death of Turkmenistan's leader etc.
Interestingly the people who are interviewed about the problems at the airports seem to be very understanding of the delays - so what is there in this that is worthy of news?
Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Utter tosh! It's called fog and is due to unusually high pressure air over the UK. It will be gone in a week or so and then all will be back to normal
[MailyDail_Reader], Rochdale, United Kingdom
I think you will find that you are replying to a joke amusingly it's a parody some of the people who read the daily mail and blame all problems on imigrants.
This has to be one of the better HYS for jokes especially the ones blaiming the government for this fog. As for travel in this fog only when neccessary and carefully.

Are you affected by UK flight delays?
Whow-eeeeee! Has the fog disrupted my travel? You must be joking. I sadly left the UK in May of this year because I was fed up with the political correctness which allows Muslims and Islamic extremists to get a foothold in the British way of life every day of the week.
I have moved to The Philippines where daily temperetures average 32C and in the evening it it is around 24C.
Fog? You can keep it and Muslims who prefer to live in ghettos than become part of the British way of life.
It's certain there is a conflict between East and West, so let's take pre-emptive action. Clear them out of the UK and lets have some kind of safety and security.
Then I might just come home.

The truth is that China is not only supplying large numbers of AK variants to Africa, but also building weapons factories in Africa - most notably in Sudan at this moment manufacturing AK47 & AK74 assault rifles.
Please withdraw your remark as it is not only a slur on the West, it is demonstrably false & just blind propaganda.
Thanks in advance
Righty Rightwing
Correct about China but the UK has been proven in 2005 to be selling weopons to 10 countries in Africa some manufacturing took place in Cheshire. Also in 1998 alone USA sold $12.5M worth. The west sell weopons too. It is not a slur but a proven truth.Denial of this is foolish to say the least. There will be no white Christmas:(

Talking about unreported terrorist threats:
On the morning of Thursday 5 October, Robert Cottage, 49, of Talbot Street, Colne, and David Jackson, 62, a retired dentist, of Trent Road, Nelson, were arrested and later charged under the Explosives Substances Act 1883.
At Cottage’s house, some 22 chemical components were discovered. Cottage had been a BNP candidate in Pendle’s Vivary Bridge ward in the local elections in May. . At Jackson’s house, a rocket launcher, BNP leaflets.
Is it only Muslim threats that warrant reporting? Food for thought when you look at the reports in the Guardian today at the BNPs bid for respectability.

As you said Jesus was a carpenter "before" he started preaching.
I flew from LHR a few weeks ago and as far as I could see the only racial profiling was against white males - every single person picked out for the body scanner was a white male in their 20s and 30s. The PC attitude to the scanning does make me believe that the story about a man using his sisters veil and passport to get through customs is true.

It depends on the area. In Luton and parts of London only Asians get stopped and searched due to them fitting a terrorists criteria. The police are definitely not as PC as you think. Racial searches are defenitely against blacks and asians overall. I have been stopped and searched more than 10 times this year.

The government should be doing a better job of selecting flights and passengers.
Tomorrow we are supposedgo to Lapland to visit Santa but at this rate the flight is going to be cancelled.
Trips to interesting places like Lapland should be allowed while trips to uninteresting places like Glasgow or Birmingham should be banned. Plus the government should make sure that no foreigners are allowed to travel until all the British have gotten to where they want to go. Otherwise what are we paying our taxes for?? It is bad enough that they come over here and crounge off the NHS and benefits.

Some 350 flights out of Heathrow have already been cancelled due to heavy fog with passengers booked on domestic flights to and from the airport being advised not to turn up.
