Is it possible to drive safely and have a cigarette?

Road safety officers are calling on the government to ban smoking while driving to cut the number of accidents.

There are concerns that the smoking ban, which comes into force on 1 July, will encourage more people to light up behind the wheel.

The Local Authority Road Safety Officers' Association, says smoking is a dangerous distraction.

But the Department for Transport said there are no plans to introduce a ban.

How distracting is smoking while driving? Are other activities just as dangerous? Do you light up behind the wheel?

Remember left never has been, and never will be right. Socialism is always doomed to failure because it fails to take account of human nature, "champagne socialists" are a prime example. There's aways one little socialist piggy that wants his snout firmly in the trough.

I'm an atheistI'd also imagine that I live a far more exciting life than you, but then again, smokers are always too busy rushing around trying to get their next fix - even when driving and it's not safe. There's no way someone can fully control a car AND light a cigarette at the same time. £60 fine and 3 points seems lenient.

It's not about do-gooding - it's just common sense.
