What do you think of the new logo for the London Olympics?

A new jagged emblem has been unveiled as the logo for the 2012 Olympics.

The symbol, based on the date 2012, is to form part of brand which is meant to be in tune with the modern world and catch the attention of young people.

Click here to see the new logo

Do you like the new image? Does it sum up the Games for you? Or could you do better? If so, what would your logo look like?

Send us your alternative Olympic logos to: yourpics@bbc.co.uk.

A logo worthy of the London Games - both are a waste of money.

What a terrible desig, If you believe the bull$hit banding rationalisation, then you'll believe anything - including the games coming in on budget (whatever that is this week).

The person responsible for this studied "design" at some trendy art school, even though he doesn't actually have any artistic talent, because was too thick to study proper subjects yet too lame or posh to just get a job. He's probably in his thirties yet still dresses like a student, lives in a studio in Clerkenwell that Daddy bought, and has a three-haircuts-in-one hairstyle. He's probably called Piers or Dylan and has a girlfriend called Arabella. He's an ar$e.

A primary school could've drawn this. Is this suppose to represent a city home to great architecture, fashion; a city of both history and modernity?

Although I wasn't passionate about the olympics being held in London; but I think organisers has gone far as to winning it that the least thing that they could do is to create a logo that will best reflect this victory.

I'm sorry, but it absolutely s*cks. The word s*ck is too weak a word to describe my utter disgust.

I used to think like that.
But now I think anything to get New Labour out.
I am even thinking of starting a revolution!

We have a little thing called a General Election, try voting in it. Its what the British people did in 97, 00 and 05. For Labour.

Proof if ever it were needed then that apathy and nausea have created a society that's been dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. 1997 could be forgiven but not the last two.

Perhaps the dumbing down is representative of a nation that thinks an olympic logo can be pulled out of Barbie glitter bag!!

I think Brown will prove to be one of our best Prime Ministers. He has an integrity that Blair didnt and he is more committed to helping people.

This is a perfect example of 'Brown-nosing'. Hoping to get a job or a hand-out?

LeftLiberal AndProud"

This is the only thing on which I have ever ageed with Philby , thus I would suggest it's highly likely to be true. I simply can't believe that even an electorate stupid enough to vote for Blair on 3 occasions will be quite so foolish as to fall for the odious Boy David's amateur dramatics.

OK - does "we will be out of the Blair stuff and into the Brown stuff" sound better?

atomjohn Lee, Derby, United Kingdom

Funnier, certainly. Politically inaccurate. I think Brown will prove to be one of our best Prime Ministers. He has an integrity that Blair didnt and he is more committed to helping people.

Few of us actually care, it's just something to do in work.
I'm sure you have your own more important things to attend to rather than post on HYS, but you're still doing it.
Stop moaning.

Alright, Sophie. I give in! I'm abit bored @ work too...HYS keeps me sane

The Olympic logo is clearly a picture of a Simpson's character on the right giving someone standing on the left "oral stimulation"! How could something like this be portrayed as "inclusive"???

The Olympics already have a perfectly good and immediately recognisable logo - the five coloured rings. Why must London waste our money paying some artistic retard to come up with such rubbish? All they have to do is take the rings and add "London 2012", not too difficult and cheap. Better still let someone else waste money staging the Olympics and avoid another Millenium Dome!
