Britain is in real trouble now, with the "same old suspect" moral minority hiding in their mosques plotting against the "immorral majority of the population". these plotters will never leave, but will attempt to change our society to become their version of a moral society. and any discenters to their ideals will be met with threats and violence. the Tube bombings will be looked back on as the shape of things to come.

Our moral decline is directly proportional to the influx of muslim people. Their beliefs (religious or otherwise) are contrary to our own. Many muslims here are stating that there are over a billion muslims worldwide as though it were fact. Actually, there are fewer than 700 million muslims in the world if you exclude those who were forcibly made to convert under penatly of death or harm to themselves or their family.

Because they have evidence ranging from the measureable expansion of the universe, its vast size, the cosmic microwave background.... Together with physical laws (General Relativity, etc) that are consistent with the evidence. I could go on. Not an unverifiable book produced in the Bronze Age.

I'm confused, the right wing choose to believe unofficial statistics on a subjective topic of morality, but refuse to believe official factual statistics that show crime has fallen, immigration has benefited the economy, unemployment has fallen, poverty has been reduced and scientific "evidence" supporting the global warming theory.

If your belief system is that a book of bronze age stories represents the absolute truth, then an evidence based approach (ie science) will never convince you.
Whilst the Copernican system was and is incompatible with a literal interpretation of parts of the bible, it is nonetheless accepted as true by most Christians. Why can evolution, the Big Bang, a very old earth not be accepted too?

Religion may be a way of halting this decline. According to "The Big Questions" opinion poll 62% agreed with the statement that religion has an important role to play in the moral guidance of the nation with 29% disagreeing or strongly disagreeing with that statement.
Ninety-three per-cent said they would help if they saw someone collapsed on the street but if someone was talking nosily on a mobile phone on a train or bus, less than a quarter said they would intervene.
Also, if they saw a group of teenagers graffiti-ing a wall, more than two thirds, 68%, said they wouldn't intervene.
