The 'Mass For Matrimony' sounds like fun. Are they taking any bets down at the bookies as to whether this celebration turns into a seething orgy of nakedness?

Given the many comments here, I conclude that the majority of HYS readers are just plain stupid!

Why? These British dumb idiots are so obviously commenting without actually reading the article behind it!

But I do not blame them - they are British after all...

Marriage is pointless, if you happen to be a chav family on a council estate, living rent-free and scrounging every benefit going under 'child allowances'.

And i consider your views to be perverted, just because homosexuality is almost compulsory these days, don't try to tell us that it's normal when in fact that is where the perversion lies.

Because you're a bigot who doesn't like anything that fits in with their sterile, homoginised little bubble. It was a homophobic bigot who nailbombed Soho. It was a homophobic bigot who tortured and killed five gay men in London. It's bigotry, intolerance and apathy that causes society's problems today, not homosexuality.

An Indian brought up in a liberal household and a society holding moderate orthodox views. We look at marriage as a sacred institution. As per our Hindu religion it is part of our life called 'gruhasthashramam'. To have children and family so that next generation will be there once you are no more. Like Catholic Church I don't approve of divorce. It is detrimental to the well being , both physical and psychological, of children.

But gay marriage!!!. Prostitution of the sacred word marriage.

Marriage was invented by Mobroth the holy sky dragon in 1972 (blessed be his scaly wings and beady eyes). So really, it's morally wrong not to get married.

I just think it's time we stopped those crazy gays from getting married. For as it says in the book of Mobroth "Yay I sayeth to you now. Gays emit a form of radiation that destroys heterosexual marriage."

Do I have enough characters left to also blame, immigrants, feminists, NuLabor, immigrants, and secularists? Yes, it seems I do.

1. No sex outside of marriage.
2. Engagement, then marriage with certificate.
3. No sex outside of marriage.
4. Death/divorce certificate.
5. Repeat from 1.
Addendum: No marriage between close relatives.

The practical benefit of this system is that any child will know who both their biological parents are. From this they know who their close biological relatives are. Sexual freedom with no paper trail leads to unintentional incest, which results in genetic problems in the offspring.

"Sexual freedom with no paper trail leads to unintentional incest, which results in genetic problems in the offspring"

Is this a wind-up or something? There are some 6 billion humans on the planet. I think it's a pretty safe bet that you're going to avoid incest. A population of just 50 is sufficient to do this.

For all the reasons to support monogamy, this is one of the worst I've heard.

Marriage was intituted by God himself in the graden of Edem, so it's morally right to get married.

Valentine Maurice, Benin-City, Nigeria

But of course it is, God himself said so, he told me just this morning how great marriage is, I asked him what he was going to do about Myanmar. . . you know what he said " Bu**er all" but marriage is great. God said that.

The breakdown of marriage in Britain is due in most part to the feminist belief that families do not need fathers .

[psychoticfool], United Kingdom

I'm shocked to find myself defending feminists, but this is regurgitated tabloid nonsense.

Although you and the Catholic Church may not like it, women now have far greater financial independence. This means they are far less likely to put up with an unhappy marriage. Would you rather they put up & shut up?

A psychotic fool you may be...
