Syria: Army Strikes Kill 12 ISIS Fighters, Monitor Says
Version 0 of 1. Syrian Army jets carried out at least 25 airstrikes on the city of Palmyra, held by the Islamic State, on Friday, a group monitoring the war said. It was the second intense bombardment of territory held by the militants in two days. The monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said it was one of the most sustained government bombardments of Palmyra. The airstrikes killed at least 26 people, including 12 Islamic State fighters, said the group, based in Britain. On Thursday, Syrian jets carried out at least 12 airstrikes on Raqqa, the Islamic State’s de facto capital in the north. |
