http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-34464403 Version 0 of 1. A theatrical event featuring physical sets and 3D animations of mythical creatures has been launched in an Angus woodland. DragonQuest, an "augmented reality" performance, transforms Monikie Country Park into a magical land of goblins, fairies and dragons. Visitors use a specially-created mobile device app to reveal animated creatures and piece together the story's plot. The interactive event was put together by Edinburgh firm Vision Mechanics, alongside animation graduates from Dundee University's art school. Organisers claim DragonQuest is the first ever use of augmented reality in a live theatre performance. It has been supported by Angus Council, Creative Scotland and VisitScotland. DargonQuest runs every evening, excluding Mondays, until Sunday 1 November. |
