Anna Chudy, 35, is believed to have left Northwick Park hospital in Harrow, north-west London, with a man on Friday morning. She had given birth to a baby son by caesarean section just before 4am on Thursday. Police have released images of Chudy and the man in an attempt to trace the mother and ensure she is safe. She arrived at the hospital at 10.30pm on Wednesday and gave birth to a healthy boy by caesarean section at around 3.40am on Thursday. At around 10.30am on Friday she left the hospital without her child, Scotland Yard said.
The man, who was pictured leaving the accident and emergency department separately to Chudy, is described as white, tall, with an athletic build and short, dark brown hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket with patches on the elbows and dark trousers, police said. Officers have released CCTV images of Chudy and the man, both seen leaving the hospital separately via the accident and emergency department.
The Metropolitan police said of Chudy: “Officers are concerned for her welfare and are keen to trace her to ensure she is safe and well.” Chudy is described as white, possibly eastern European, of medium build, 1.6 metres (5ft 4in) tall, with bleached blonde fine hair in a pony tail. The man is described as white, with short dark brown hair. He is tall with an athletic build and was wearing a black leather jacket with patches on the elbow and dark trousers.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact Brent CID on 07584 779085, or the police non-emergency number 101, or the charity Missing People on 116 000. Det Sgt Adrian Smith, of Brent CID, said: “This is a vulnerable woman who needs to be located as soon as possible so she can be reunited with her baby boy. We are not looking to trace her with the intention of pursuing any criminal matters against her. Our only concern is her safe return.
“It is of paramount importance that anyone who has any information about her whereabouts contacts us immediately.”
