Man charged over 2005 Huyton police chase death crash

A man has been charged over a crash in which a teenager died after a police chase more than 11 years ago.

Mark Anthony Walsh, 30, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody by Liverpool Magistrates' Court accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

Mark Courtney, 19, was a passenger in the Ford Focus which overturned after it was in collision with a taxi in Huyton on 27 February 2005.

Merseyside Police had lost sight of the car after a pursuit on Liverpool Road.

Another passenger in the Focus was also injured in the crash.
