Two D.C. men arrested in unconnected fatal shootings
Version 0 of 1. Arrests were made Tuesday in two unrelated D.C. homicides, police said. About 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2016, officers went to the 4500 block of Quarles Street NE after hearing gunshots, D.C. police said in a statement. They found Deonta Farrar, 32, with multiple gunshot wounds, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the statement said. On Tuesday, police arrested Saeed Woodall, 23, of Northwest Washington in the shooting. He was charged with first-degree murder while armed, according to the statement. No information about a motive was immediately available. In a separate incident, about 2:05 p.m. on May 9, officers were sent to the 100 block of Irvington Street SW in response to a report of a shooting, D.C. police said in a statement. They found Damonta Thompson, 25, of Southwest Washington with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the statement said.
