Detectives searching for the missing Dorset teenager Gaia Pope have found items of women’s clothing in a field close to the seaside town where she disappeared. Detectives searching for the missing Dorset teenager Gaia Pope have arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
The owner of the clothes has not yet been identified but police involved in the search for the 19-year-old have informed her family of this discovery. The arrest came after items of women’s clothing were found in a field close to the seaside town where she disappeared.
Dorset police said the discovery was made at 10.28am on Thursday by a member of the public in an area of open land north of the coastal path. A cordon is in place. The owner of the clothes has not yet been identified but police involved in the search for the 19-year-old informed her family of the discovery.

That afternoon she was driven from Langton Matravers to Swanage by a family member when they stopped off for fuel at St Michael’s Garage on Valley Road in Swanage.
