Maids Moreton deaths: Three arrests in murder investigation

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man and woman who died more than 18 months apart.

Former English teacher Peter Farquhar, 69, died on 26 October 2015 and Ann Moore-Martin, 83, died on 12 May 2017.

A third man was also arrested in connection with the deaths of the pair, who lived in Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police said a cause of death had "yet to be determined" for either victim.

Mr Farquhar had worked at Manchester Grammar School and Stowe school in Buckinghamshire.

Among his students was Channel 4 political correspondent Michael Crick, who tweeted of his distress at learning of the "possible murder" of his "great friend".

Properties in Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire and Cornwall are being searched as part of the investigation.
