Four other people were taken to hospital for treatment. One person is critically ill while two are in a serious condition. Three school boys and an older friend, who gave them a lift, were treated in hospital. One person is critically ill while two are in a serious condition.
It is understood some of those in the car had been sitting mock GCSE exams at Glastry College in Ballyhalbert. The boys had all been on their way to Glastry College in Ballyhalbert to sit their mock GCSE exams.
School principal Alan Black said the four boys involved in the crash were year-12 pupils who were on study leave and coming in for their Christmas tests.
"It is always devastating to see the removal of young potential," he said.
"Today there are many young people, both directly involved with the family and the wider community, who are shocked and devastated by what has happened this morning to one of their friends and relations.
"We have been trying to comfort those who have been very, very distressed by this news."
