He has been living with his cousin at an address in Pontefract and is not thought to have any other family in the UK.
A police source reportedly said officers had "opposed Perwaiss being released on bail and were frustrated he had now absconded".
Ports, airports and Interpol have been alerted to Perwaiss' disappearance, police said.
He has been described as about 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall with a stocky build and stubble. His English is said to be poor.
Two other men, Omar Altimimi and Yusuf Abdullah, were also arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.
