Version 0 of 1.

Families with energetic older children are going to be disappointed when they discover the article on national parks (Travel, 9 February) has misled them about the location of Pen-y-Pass Hostel in Snowdonia. It is not “at the foot of Snowdon” but at an elevation of 359m, about one third of the way up to the summit. The clue is in the name: it means “the top of the pass”.Fiona CollinsCarrog, Sir Ddinbych

• The government must live in a continual state of anticlimax after each of Chris Grayling’s appointments inevitably results in failure (Minister backs Grayling despite debacle over ferry contract, 11 February). Any honourable minister would have fallen on their sword – but he’d probably miss it.Jude WilkinsonSparsholt, Hampshire

• This is presumably the North Korean Brexit model (Brexit ‘can enhance UK’s lethality’, says Williamson, 11 February).Stephen SamuroffLondon

• You quote a line from a speech by Gavin Williamson as: “This is why ‘global Britain’ needs to be much more than a pity phrase.” Sometimes mistakes speak to a higher truth.Dr Richard CarterPutney, London

• Even Belfast’s chimps have realised a hard border is not a good idea (Chimps build ladder from branches to flee enclosure at Belfast zoo, 11 February).Ed CollardWest Bridgford, Nottinghamshire

• Your subscription advert (11 February) shows a man importantly reading the paper while a female arm reaches out for the recipe section. Glad the Guardian is having no truck with this feminism nonsense.Sallyann HalsteadFitzhead, Somerset
