Police have launched an investigation into a break-in at a jewellers shop, after a van was driven through the front window of the premises. Officers said the the Skoda Felicia used in the incident, at Beaverbrooks Jewellers in Dundee, was due to have been crushed earlier in the week. Tayside Police said the incident, in the city's Murraygate area, happened between 0545 and 0554 GMT on Sunday. Officers added that it was unclear whether anything had been stolen. The distinctive white van used in the break-in had been adapted for a wheelchair user, with large windows in its rear panels. The vehicle was uplifted by a car breaker on Friday, and officers expressed concern as to how it was later used on the road. Police appealed for anyone who saw the van, with registration mark T241 ASN, to get in touch, as well as anyone with information about a large motorbike which was seen following the vehicle. |
