She read text messages between the boys and another of their friends to the court which "point clearly at a plan to do something to Roberts", with the accused being the instigator, she said.
Roberts Buncis died a few days before his 13th birthday
The teenager had sent a text to Roberts asking him to meet him in the early hours of 12 December in the woodland where he was later found. He was told he was needed to move something and was offered £50 to go, Ms Loram said.
At 02:24 GMT, the accused sent a message to their friend, which read: "It's happening."
The court was told that friend had tried to contact Roberts the following day asking if he wanted to meet, but by then he had died.
It was then that the friend messaged the accused, asking: "What did you do to him?"
Ms Loram said the reply from the accused was: "Things went wrong."
She said: "The reality of what happened to Roberts is this. There is no possible defence to the charge of murder.
"[The accused] may be nearly 15, but the savagery to the attack on Roberts can have no explanation that amounts to a defence.
"However this started, [the accused] used a knife to cause those injuries to Roberts. He stabbed him again and again and he used such force as to leave the knife tip to the skull."
