A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm that a British national has been released from custody in Pakistan and is back at home with his wife and children. | |
"Consular officials have been in touch with the British national since his release and we will consider any request for further action that the individual may ask of us." | |
Angus MP Mike Weir had been helping the family in its quest to find out what had happened to the 44-year-old. | |
He said: "I'm very pleased that he has been released and returned to his family. | |

"As far as I'm aware he has been released without any charge or any real explanation of what has happened." |
