Version 0 of 1.

Beaches stretching for about 20 miles along the Moray Firth coast have been found to be missing from an Ordnance Survey map.

Nairn businessman Brian Turner noticed no beaches were marked between Arderseir, near Inverness, to Findhorn in Moray on the 1:250 000 scale map.

Blogging on the mynairn.com community website, he found they were marked on other OS maps.

He contacted OS, who said they would revise the next version.

Britain's national mapping agency said the stretch of beaches were marked as sand on its 1:25 000 scale and 1:50 000 scale map sheets.

In its reply to Mr Turner, OS said there was no reason for them to have been omitted.

The internet services company boss said: "The hope is the correction means other residents and visitors in the Highlands can now be made more aware of Nairn's beaches."
