Woman detained over death of man

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a 61-year-old man in Barrhead on Wednesday.

The body of John Cook was discovered in his home in Henry Street in the town at about 0450 GMT.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said relatives had been made aware and a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The woman is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court later on Thursday.
