Overturned cars on icy stretches

A number of cars have overturned due to icy conditions on roads on the Ards Peninsula in County Down.

Police said four to five vehicles overturned on roads between Newtownards and Donaghadee and there have also been a number of minor collisions.

They have issued a warning to motorists to exercise caution when driving in the Ards and Bangor areas of north Down.

There have also been a number of minor road accidents on Woodburn Road and Prospect Roads in Carrickfergus.
