Former Formula 1 driver Nigel Mansell is to be honoured with a star on Birmingham's Walk of Stars later. Former Formula 1 driver Nigel Mansell has been honoured with a star on Birmingham's Walk of Stars.

As well as receiving his star Mansell is taking part in the Best of Motoring in the Midlands, with vintage and modern cars on show in Broad Street. An early memory was of being escorted home by police for karting in Robin Hood Lane, he said.

Mansell said it was a great honour to receive the award even though Murray Walker got his before him.
"He's a few years older than me but I am in good company," he said.
"I think its great to be part of a very small club and to be recognised by this great city of Birmingham, which I am very proud of," he said.
