"Face-to-face discussions between Labour and Plaid Cymru have continued which have directly involved Ieuan Wyn Jones," the spokesperson added. "We believe that we have conducted these discussions in a principled way, with good will, and feel that a great deal of progress has been made," said the spokesperson. "There have been four meetings so far, focusing on a working document on a whole range of policy issues, and a further discussion between Ieuan Wyn Jones and Rhodri Morgan will take place [on Tuesday].
"They focus on a working document. We believe they [the talks] have been constructive with good will on both sides and we hope that discussion can continue in that spirit." "We have demonstrated commitment to this process in order to secure a stable outcome for government in Wales."
The spokesperson said a further meeting was planned for Tuesday.
