In an unrelated incident, a 19-year-old man was stabbed in New Cross Road just after 03:30 BST on Sunday, police said.
The man is in a critical condition in hospital. No-one has been arrested over the attack.
New Cross Road is about three miles away from where the 14-year-old was fatally stabbed.
