Driver killed and passenger hurt in Lewes road crash

A man was killed and another man injured when a car hit a tree on a country lane in East Sussex.

Police said the 38-year-old driver of an Audi suffered fatal injuries in the crash between Deadmantree Hill and Barcombe Cross, near Lewes.

A male passenger was treated for minor injuries following the incident in the early hours of Saturday.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact Sussex Police.
