A man had to be freed from his car after he drove into a pub. A man crashed his black BMW convertible car into a pub in Essex.

Firefighters said the man was initially trapped in the car. He was freed before he was assessed by an ambulance crew. Essex Police said the driver, who was seriously injured, had to be freed from his vehicle before being taken to Ipswich Hospital.
Police later arrested a 26-year-old man at nearby Manningtree on suspicion of drink-driving.
Officers have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
