Version 0 of 1.

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Severn.

West Mercia Police said the body was discovered by a rower at 09:45 BST near Worcester Rowing Club on Grandstand Road.

Investigations have started to identify the man and the death is being treated as "unexplained", a spokesman said.

Police said it was "too early" to say if the body is that of Stuart Pickup, a Worcestershire man who has been missing for almost a week.

The 37-year-old, from Himbleton, has not been seen since he left work in London on Monday 1 July.
