Man dies after South Uist car crash

A 19-year-old man has died after a car carrying five teenagers crashed in the Western Isles on Saturday evening.

The single car crash took place at about 20:40 at the junction of the A865 and B888 on South Uist.

Police said two 16-year-old males and another 19-year-old man were treated for minor injuries after the crash.

Another 16-year-old male was treated for a minor head injury. He was transferred to hospital in Glasgow but later released.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
