Woman dies after Newquay cliff fall

An elderly woman has died after falling from cliffs in Cornwall.

The woman was found unconscious in a cave at Porth Beach, Newquay, on Monday afternoon.

The woman, aged in her 80s and from Newquay, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by air ambulance but died from her injuries.

She was believed to have fallen from cliffs near Whipsiderry beach, coastguards said. Her next of kin have been informed.
