Galashiels man in court on assault charge

A man has appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court accused of assaulting a woman to the danger of her life.

Jonathan Barnes, 29, of Torwoodlee Road in Galashiels, also faced a charge of causing malicious damage.

The charges relate to an incident at a house in Galashiels on Friday.

Mr Barnes made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.
