A police officer has been suspended after being charged with child pornography offences. A police officer who served on a family protection unit has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on child pornography charges.
The constable with Strathclyde Police is in custody following his appearance before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. Strathclyde Police constable Iain Duncan, 28, from Bishopbriggs, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday and was refused bail.
He was said to have been arrested following an investigation by police in England. A spokeswoman for the force said he had been suspended from duty.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman confirmed that a 28-year-old serving police officer appeared in court and was refused bail. Mr Duncan was charged under section 52 of the Civic Government Act which deals with indecent child photographs.
She added that he had been suspended from duty.
It is understood the constable was charged under section 52 of the Civic Government Act which deals with indecent child photographs.
