More than three million people are suffering from hunger as insecurity persists in Mali’s north, Malian officials and the United Nations said Wednesday. More than 715,000 children are at risk of acute malnutrition, the United Nations humanitarian coordinator in Mali, Mbaranga Gasarabwe, said. Violence involving separatists and jihadists has weakened the economy, Mali’s social development adviser, Moussa Ouattara, said.
