Truro Crown Court was told 34-year-old Danny Mytton, of Central Treviscoe, St Austell, stamped on his victim's face at the St Dennis Working Men's Club in May last year. He had denied grievous bodily harm with intent on Matthew Martin, 43. Mytton, who runs stripping agency Wild Ones XXX and clothing company Sluts and Thugs, was jailed for nine years. 'Reputation' Prosecutor Philip Lee said Mr Martin was having a "perfectly pleasant time" with his fiancee and friends before the attack in the club's toilets. He told the court Mytton had stamped at least twice on the victim's face resulting in him suffering a cheekbone broken in three places which required surgery. Mytton claimed he acted in self-defence after Mr Martin attacked him. Judge Graham Cottle said the defendant had "something of a reputation" where he lived with previous convictions for assault, criminal damage and witness intimidation. He told Mytton his victim was a mild-mannered, shy, retiring man "who did absolutely nothing to warrant what you did". He added that Mr Martin's life had been "fundamentally changed" by the attack. |
