The Foreign Office says it is "urgently working" with Canadian authorities to learn the identity of the victims of a plane crash in which six people died. Four Britons were among six people killed when a seaplane crashed in Canada, the Foreign Office has said.
Some reports said four of those who died were British. Five passengers and a pilot died when the Beaver aircraft they were in came down in woodland in the Les Bergeronnes area, in Quebec province, on Sunday evening (local time).
The Beaver seaplane took off on Sunday from Tadoussac, Quebec, on the north shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The identities of the British victims have not been released.
It crashed shortly after in a wooded area in Les Bergeronnes. Investigators have been hindered by bad weather and the inaccessible nature of the terrain. The FCO described the crash as a "tragic incident", and said it was in contact with the Canadian authorities.
