A fight between two parents on a school pick-up run resulted in one being stabbed in the face outside a Brisbane primary school. A 36-year-old Queensland man has been charged over a stabbing at a Brisbane primary school on Wednesday.
A 45-year-old man, who police say knew his alleged assailant, was in a serious condition after suffering what paramedics reported to be wounds to his face, back and hands. The man allegedly became involved in an argument with another man, 45, in the car park of the Wynnum state school on Boxgrove Avenue about 2.45pm and allegedly stabbed him in the chest and wrist.
The multiple stabbing took place in the car park of Wynnum state school in the city’s south-west about 2.45pm when classes were finishing on Wednesday. The victim was taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the incident involved “two males known to each other [who] were involved in an altercation”. The younger man will face the Wynnum magistrates court on Thursday morning, charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault, possessing a knife and wounding.
They said a second man was “assisting with their inquiries” and appealed for witnesses to come forward. On Wednesday police said the incident involved “two males known to each other [who] were involved in an altercation”.
