Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are writing a comedy in which they will star together as sisters, according to the New York Times. The duo are 100 pages into the screenplay, and plan to co-write with Schumer’s Trainwreck screenwriting partner: her sister, Kim.

“Amy and I were creatively made for each other,” Lawrence told the New York Times. “We have different flavours. It’s been the most fun experience of my life”.

Lawrence and Schumer met a couple of months ago after The Hunger Games star emailed the comedian. “I said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,’” she said. The pair cemented their friendship during a recent holiday in the Hamptons, with Schumer posting pictures of them jet-skiing and making a human pyramid on Instagram.

Schumer is hot property in Hollywood thanks to her well-received feature debut, Trainwreck, and the popular Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer. Directed by Judd Apatow, Trainwreck sees her play a flighty men’s magazine journalist whose string of one-night stands is brought to end when she unexpectedly falls for a physiotherapist (played by Bill Hader). She’s lined up to star with Jessica Chastain in the Weinstein Company comedy Plus One.

Lawrence is currently promoting the final Hunger Games film, Mockingjay: Part 2, in which she plays teenage firebrand Katniss Everdeen. Her upcoming films include X-Men Apocalypse, in which she’ll return as the shape-shifting mutant Raven, and Joy, a David O Russell biopic about the inventor of the Miracle Mop.
