Missing Victorian teenage boys found safe
(about 4 hours later) | |
Three teenage boys have been found safe and well after spending a night lost in the Victorian bush north-east of Melbourne.
Two boys aged 13 and one 14-year-old, were found by search crews about 9am on Sunday. They have been taken to Maroondah hospital for treatment.
The trio went missing about 2.30pm on Saturday after wandering off while walking as part of a group of 20 teenagers in the Yarra Ranges national park.
The Lilydale station commander, Snr Sgt Andrew Hives, thanked those involved in the search. “This was a good outcome and we are glad the boys appear safe and well,” he said.
“It is also a good reminder about how quickly weather conditions can change and we remind people it is important that they are adequately prepared whenever they set out for a hike.” |
