A man has been shot dead by police in north London. A man has been shot dead by police in London.
Officers were called to a property in Barnet at 21:35 BST on Sunday night amid reports of a man making threats to kill and having what was believed to be a gun, the Met Police said. The man was shot outside a property in Cedar Road, Enfield, shortly before 23:50 BST on Sunday, the Met Police said.
The man left before police arrived. Armed officers later attended an address in Enfield where a man was shot outside a property in Cedar Road. Officers had earlier been called to a property in Barnet amid reports of a man, in possession of what was believed to be a gun, making threats to kill.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dead man, described as white and believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A non-police firearm was also recovered, the force said.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) for investigation.
