Version 0 of 1.

A man has admitted killing his partner and dismembering her body.

The torso of Ramute Butkiene, 42, was found in a suitcase at a house in Mayor's Walk in Peterborough on 5 June. Other body parts including her arms, legs and head were found elsewhere.

Vytautas Jokubauskas, 57, of Mayor's Walk, denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the Old Bailey.

Lithuanian factory worker Jokubauskas will face trial at Southwark Crown Court on 11 November.

Ms Butkiene's body was discovered stuffed in the case at the home the couple rented together.

Her torso was found after other tenants in the shared house reported a smell and called police.

The mother-of-one was an agency worker in the city, Cambridgeshire Police said.

Jokubauskas, who appeared via video link in court, denied murdering Ms Butkiene sometime after 28 May, but admitted manslaughter and preventing the burial of a corpse.

A post-mortem examination failed to establish how Ms Butkiene died.
