The co-founder of a US-style children’s camp in Hertfordshire has been charged with conspiracy to cause cruelty to children.

Tal Landsman of LL Camps in Bushey, has also been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The 25-year-old from Stevenage was arrested last month along with two others in an operation led by detectives at Hertfordshire police’s child protection unit.

Larry Lewis, 55, of Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Adrianne Landsman, 56, of Edgware, north London, has been charged with conspiracy to wilfully neglect children so as to expose them to risk of harm.

The camp was closed and its director, Ben Lewis, was arrested and charged with possessing indecent images of children last month.

Police say all the offences relate to the potential destruction of evidence and obstructing police in their inquiries, and the responsibilities of the safeguarding of children between 1 August and 27 August.

Det Ch Insp Dave Newsome said: “We fully understand that parents and professionals will be concerned due to the nature of the investigation, but we are making significant progress to determine the full facts of what remains a complex investigation.

“If anyone has further information they are asked to contact 101, where they will be signposted to an officer on my team.”

All three men have been released on bail and are due to appear at St Albans magistrates court on 6 October.
