Two arrests in Leeds park murder investigation

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a Polish national was found in a park in Leeds.

Police were called to Burley Park on Cardigan Lane at about 07:00 BST on Saturday after a member of the public made the discovery near a tennis court.

West Yorkshire Police said the victim had been identified as 57-year-old Waldek Mural.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Mural died as a result of multiple injuries.

The arrested men, aged 32 and 30, are currently in custody.

Det Ch Insp Chris Walker said: "As part of our ongoing inquiries in to Mr Mural's death, we are keen to speak to anyone who saw him between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

"The last confirmed sighting we have of him is in the Armley area at around 18:30 BST on Friday and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw him around this time or after.

"We would also like to hear from anyone with information about Mr Mural's lifestyle or with any other information which could help our investigation in the circumstances behind his death."
