Last remaining 9/11 rescue dog treated to 16th birthday party
Version 0 of 1. The last-surviving 9/11 search and rescue dog has been treated to a sweet 16th birthday party. "New York hero" Bretagne’s first mission with handler Denise Corless was working at ground zero in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks 14 years ago. Now believed to be the only remaining rescue dog who helped those trapped under rubble that day, BarkPost and 1 Hotel Central Park organised a special day to “celebrate her birthday and to thank her for her incredible service”.
BarkPost/YouTube The dog, who is soon turning 16, was flown from Texas to New York City, along with Ms Corless, where she was treated to a luxury hotel suite, a ride in a vintage city taxi, and a billboard expressing the city’s gratitude in Times Square. The day was topped off with a surprise birthday party for Bretagne, complete with cake, presents, party hats and a new collar. |
