Cumbria Police officer Joel Williams charged with fraud

A Cumbria Police officer has been charged with fraud.

Joel Williams, 32, of Barrow, is accused of four counts of fraud by false representation and possession of identity documents with intent.

The alleged offences took place between 2013 and this year. He was arrested and suspended in May.

He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court on 1 October. The force said it investigates all such allegations "thoroughly".
