Version 0 of 1.

Video has emerged of nine police officers arresting an unarmed black teenager for jaywalking.

The young man, who was unarmed, allegedly trespassed in a bus-only lane before scuffling with an officer.

Watch the arrest here:

The video was originally posted by Edgar Avendano, who said on Facebook that the officer had tried to stop the teenager, who continued to walk to his bus.

Spectators can be heard shouting at the first officer on the scene, who is seen to use his baton on the teenager while resisting arrest.

Once backup arrived, four officers bring the teen to the ground, while the others cordon off the area.

The young man was held in custody before being released to his mother, pending a charge in juvenile court of resisting arrest and trespassing.

The Stockton Police Department's public information officer, Joseph Silva, is reported as saying:

"He was walking in a lane that is designated only for buses to drive in,” Silva said. “It was a safety issue, and trespassing according to the posted signs and the Stockton Municipal Code.”

When first approached by the officer, “the kid immediately started using obscene language and said that he wouldn’t listen.”
