An extensive search involving a police helicopter and a mountain rescue unit is under way for a missing 12-year-old boy. A missing schoolboy has been found safe and well in Leeds, South Yorkshire Police have confirmed.
Joshua Oxley from Rotherham was last seen at nearby Chapeltown railway station about 19:00 BST on Tuesday. Joshua Oxley, of Rotherham, had been seen by cameras earlier at a gadget shop in the Core Shopping Centre.
He left Winterhill School in Kimberworth at about 16:00 BST and was reported missing about 30 minutes later, said police. He had left Winterhill School in Kimberworth, Rotherham and been reported missing about 16:30 on Tuesday.
South Yorkshire Police said they were "growing increasingly concerned". The force said a "massive thank you" to those that had helped in the search.
Supt Paul McCurry said: "Joshua's disappearance for this length of time is out of character." Joshua had been spotted by CCTV arriving at the railway station in Leeds, at about 20:00 on on the night he went missing, said police.
Joshua was last seen on the northbound platform of the railway station but it was not known if he got on a train, he said. A police helicopter and a mountain rescue unit had been involved in the overnight search.
An appeal has been made for station or train users to come forward with any information. Supt Paul McCurry of South Yorkshire Police said his disappearance could have been "as a result of a minor incident at school" on Tuesday.
It was also revealed a mountain rescue unit was helping the police search.
Joshua is about 4ft 6ins (1.4m) tall with light brown hair and was in school uniform when last seen, the force said.
He was also carrying a red backpack and had a grey hoodie top, officers said.
He is not thought to have a phone or access to any money.

Joshua was not in any trouble and his mother and the rest of his family just wanted him to get in touch, he added.
